Mojo Blanc ft. Jackie Turner: Friday April 15th @ 7pm

The “brain child” of Wil Roberts –  (wilrobertsmusic.com)

“Well I tried to get a band with this name off the ground in Vail, Colorado a number of years ago and due to distractions and life changes it never happened. I’ve always liked this band name and after partnering with singer Jackie Turner here in the south bay I’ve launched the name, with a band of course, :-) again!

I’m on bass guitar in this band with some contribution on keys and acoustic guitar. The vocals really kill with this line up. Dana Withers, Jackie Turner and myself all switch off on lead vocals while the harmonies never seem to stop. Miles Pruitt is a rock solid drummer and tons of fun to play music with. My favorite part of this band though is the over all fun we have each time we get together to play music.”

Scotty & The Barrelmakers: Saturday April 16th @ 7pm

4101cea6ca3fc3e1dd90c8452ae7a6c8.jpeg

Scotty & the Barrelmakers is a Santa Cruz-based Americana jam band led by Bay Area veteran musician Scott Cooper. The band showcases Cooper's songwriting with jams that build in dynamics culminating in climactic jams. Cooper is familiar to many through his work with the China Cats, Gary Gates Band and others. Cooper's first CD reached #5 on Relix magazine's jam band radio charts and the follow-up "Batik in Blue" has just been released to more great reviews.

For those who have no fear of original music!

Fans of Tedeschi Trucks, Little Feat, the Radiators, Grateful Dead, Ry Cooder, David Lindley and String Cheese Incident will appreciate the band's songs, grooves and jams.
The band includes former Dark Star Orchestra drummer Mark Corsolini, lap steel genius Scott Walker, versatile veteran bassist Terry Shields, and pianist Lachlan Kane who also contributes original material and stellar harmony vocals.

It all started when Isaiah began playing the guitar at the very young age of 6, learning from teacher, mentor, and brother Angelo Santi. By the age of 13, Isaiah started to get more mature in his playing performing in the Sutter Creek Blues Bar known as Drytown Club. Word quickly spread about this 13 year old kid playing the blues at Drytowns Blues Jam held on Friday nights. One Friday night Isaiah packed the house and the dance floor and it was at that moment he knew this is what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. It wasn’t too much longer after that when Isaiah knew he wanted to eventually do his own thing. He released his album in 2008 titled "Plug Me In" with 12 of his own Blues, Funky, Latin, Pop songs he wrote, produced and recorded along with the help from mentor Angelo Santi and some of Sacramento's local musician friends he was with at the time.

The music continued through grade school where he got his first taste of indie stardom. “My 1st grade choir teacher found out I ‘played’ guitar and asked me to bring it to class. I stood up in front of a bunch of 6 year olds with my Sears plastic guitar, strummed one open chord and the crowd went nuts. I thought ‘Hey, I could get used to this.’” he says with a laugh.

Aside from Neil Young, there is no brighter star in the famed West Coast hamlet of La Honda than Gary Gates. A veteran of the Bay Area music scene, Gary has been playing "jam band" music longer than the moniker has existed. In 1976, Gary toured as the opening act for Neil's legendary Northern California Bar Tour. As a member of the popular Loma Mar Store Band, later Rhythm Method, and now fronting a band of his own name, Gary has picked up more and more fans and admirees over the decades. Yet wider-spread stardom has eluded Gary, possibly because of his frequent "staycations" in Hawaii and Thailand. Regardless, the Gary Gates Band is arguably today's Bay Area's hottest unsigned jam band.

When he wasn't with his family or in sports, he spent most of his time writing music on a keyboard in his bedroom. Picking up the guitar while in high school, Jake quickly latched onto a whole new world of songwriting as a coping mechanism for many of life's difficulties. Rivers lists some of his many inspirations to be Carly Rae Jepsen, Foster the People, Oasis, The 1975, Goo Goo Dolls, Keane, Max Martin, and of course Coldplay.

Most of what you hear in Jake's music is written entirely by himself. From every melody and rhythmic noise you hear, to one hundred percent of the lyrics, Jake likes being apart of the artistic process throughout the whole journey of each song. With a few exceptions, he will be the writer, performer, and producer of his original work unless otherwise noted.

San Pedro Square Market Live Music: Week of Feb 8th

San Pedro Square Market Live Music: Join SPSM for live performances in Downtown San Jose the week of February 8th, 2016 featuring: The Honeywood, Lara Price & Friends, Tan of Dreams and Wil Roberts Duo.

The Honeywood: Thursday, February 11th @ 7pm

honeywood.jpg

Cindy and George Nowicki have been musical partners for many years. More years than Cindy will allow us to post. They have played together and separately in many bands over the years and have covered many styles of music.  The Honeywood Band project brings all those musical influences together and strips them down to just vocals and one acoustic instrument which could be a six or twelve string guitar, a piano or a mandolin. We try to capture the song in what we think it would sounded like in the early stages, when the songwriter was first working on it.

The band covers an eclectic variety of artists.  Everything from folk artists like Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne, James Taylor to Country Rockers such as the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, Dan Fogleberg, Crosby Stills & Nash, early Elton John, Jimmy Buffett, Tom Petty and Warren Zevon to Progressive bands such as ELP, The Moody Blues, Kansas, Pink Floyd to rockers such The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Blind Faith, Govt Mule, The Allman Brothers, Heart, Bob Segar, Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac to Country artists such as Dolly Parton,  Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride to Carrie Underwood, Terrie Clark, Mary Chapin Carpenter to exciting current artists such as Susan Tedeschi, Alison Krauss, The Goo Goo Dolls,  Sheryl Crow, Joan Osborne, Jackie Green, KT Tunstill, Sarah McLachlan, Green Day, Gillian Welch and many others.  A little something for every acoustic musical taste.

Lara Price & Friends: Friday, February 12th @ 7pm

lara_price_and_friends.jpg

Price discovered the power of music at the tender age of 6, when she started
taking piano lessons in England with legendary 80’s music innovator Howard
Jones. At the age of 12 she found her singing voice. Price was influenced and
encouraged by her junior high and high school choir teacher, Blake Olmstead. She
continued her vocal studies operatically with Dr. Lynn Berg at BSU. She arrived
in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1997 to pursue her dream of singing in a band.
By 1998, Price began running her own blues jam at JJ’s Blues in San Jose, and
was featured in an inspiring article about blues jams in the September issue of
the Blues Revue Magazine.
The journey of Lara’s blues band (The Lara Price Band) includes tours across the
United States and China. It also includes five CD’s that Price has produced,
co-written, and is featured playing drums, guitar, and back up vocals. Lara and
her band have shared the bill with R&B legends, Etta James, James Brown, Buddy
Guy, Leon Russell and many more.

Like many full time musicians, Lara fronts and leads several musical projects:
Lara Unplugged, an acoustic duo; Velvet Plum, a popular top 40’s party band, Militia of Love, a Cali-Reggae band; The
Lara Price Band, a rootsy rockin’ blues band and the Lara Price Blues Revue a
fantastic 10 piece R&B show band, and Girls Got the Blues. This is an all-star cast of female talent that has come together to make musical magic! As of late Lara’s 6th record, “I Mean Business”. Was picked up by The VizzTone Label Group and will be released to the world November 13th, 2015!

She’s an All American singer with a sultry stage presence and a voice that
demands your attention- smoky, lonely, sexy, and powerful. It’s no wonder her
music transcends the blues and crosses a line into music that is unequivocally
superb.

Tan of Dreams: Saturday, February 13th @ 7pm

Tan of Dreams Stems from the Creative work of Singer, SongWriter & Drummer Renato Annicchiarico aka Enahena, whose principal characteristic is his sophisticated sense of melody & harmony (most likely descended from his medieval gregorian ancestors), which paired with his strong sense of rhythm, is the hallmark of the Band ...After a short period of collaborations in 2013-2014, with various musicians, the band comes to find its current & final lineup with the addition of two outstanding musicians, long time Renato's friends, Peter Cor >(Keyboards,Guitar, backing vocals),& Aaron Carothers > (Bass) ...The Trio with this final lineup seems to have fully matched Renato's Vision in achieving an inspiring yet powerful sound, naturally blending Melody & Rhythm in such a fashion which is appealing to an array of diverse audiences
