San Pedro Square Market Live Music: Join SPSM for live performances in Downtown San Jose the week of Feb 1st, 2016 (Super Bowl Week) featuring: Jerry Sauceda, Bob Burnett Trio w/ Tammi Brown, The Cruisetones, OTR, Sonic Blue ft. Joy Bonner, Mary Ellen Duell, Hootenanny! and Groovy Judy.

BANDS FOR THURSDAY FEBRUARY 4th (multiple stages):

Jerry Sauceda: 6-9PM


Jerry Sauceda and his trio are primarily a cover band utilizing Jerry's very own uniquely designed sequenced backing tracks. Mr. Sauceda and his trio perform everything from Rock, Dance R&B, Hip Hop, Motown, Jazz Standards, Latin and Country. He plays as a live guitarist, vocalist with an accompanying live sax player and keyboardist.

Bob Burnett Trio ft. Tammi Brown: 8-11pm


As a popular sideman, seven string guitarist Bob Burnett has supported among others, Doobie Brothers bassist Tiran Porter, Jazz Steel Pan player Andy Narell, World Beat stars Pele Juju, Nigerian Afro-Beat All-Star Danjuma Adamu, Kenny Stahl, and children’s musician Bob Reid. Burnett was also a regular on Kid’s Clubhouse KTEH TV and has shared the stage with Emeril, Tony Curtis and Bruce Willis.

Bob also founded the band Haven Terrace which included members Jeff Ballard, Kenny Wollesen and Andy Connell. His other original project, Loops and Lines, released a CD and played the Kuumbwa Jazz Center and San Jose Jazz Festival.

Nurtured in the soulful sounds of gospel music, Tammi Brown has a voice that will leave you speechless. Her career highlights include being the opening act for Maya Angelou, performing at the World renowned Monterey Jazz Festival in 2012, an invitation by jazz guitarist, Stanley Jordan, to sing background vocals for the tune Steppinʼ Out on his CD release, State of Nature, which received a 51st Grammy Awards nomination. Another highlight was co-producing with Tom Schuman of Spyro Gyra, the song, Thatʼs How it Goes, which gained a tremendous ‘buzz’ among industry insiders. She will take you on a musical journey you are sure to enjoy.

BANDS FOR FRIDAY FEBRUARY 5th (multiple stages)

The Cruisetones: 5-8pm


The CruiseTones are a versatile, talented group of performers that can lay back & groove things early, then kick it up when it’s time to get the party rolling. Made up of some the Bay Area’s best musicians this group is comfortable playing many musical styles and are indeed, the CruiseTones. Check them out!

OTR Band: 7-10pm


The band originally formed in 2002 when long-time friends Phil Griego and Peter Filice came together with several other musicians. The band had their first public appearance at a San Jose Exchange Club fundraiser for underprivileged kids — an event they have repeated every year since then. Craig Martin on drums joined the band in 2006, Megan Bernstein on vocals and keyboards arrived in 2007, and last but not least Dave Gundacker rounded out the band as lead guitarist in 2008. 

The band is constantly adding new material, focusing on rock n' roll and R&B dance music from the 70's to today's latest hits with our own inique interpretation.

In November 2009, the band was named the Best Cover Band in the KFOX Last Band Standing competition, and was also first runner-up in the 2010 competition. Rock on!

Sonic Blue ft. Joy Bonner: 8-11pm


Sonic Blue is a dynamic duo consisting of Joy Bonner, vocals, and Peter Cor, keyboards and programming.

Originally from Los Angeles by way of Santa Cruz, Joy has had a successful career singing in many professional bands throughout her career. She is currently completing the recording of an original Jazz CD. Joy has opened for the Doobie Brothers, Tom Jones, Chris Isaak and Dionne Warwick. She also performed on the Wayne Brady Show. The ultimate professional, she has even performed the national anthem at an Angels' game.

Grammy nominated multiplatinum composer Peter Cor brings to his music a multifaceted range of styles, which he has honed over the years through his musical and traveling experiences. Born in Manhattan, a melting pot of cultures which has always been a great influence, living many years in Europe, and traveling to Central America and the Caribbean, gives him a worldly vision that can be heard in whatever musical genre he undertakes.

BAND FOR SATURDAY FEBRUARY 6th (multiple stages)

Mary Ellen Duell: 3-6pm


One of the best Vocalists in the Bay Area, Mary Ellen is well known and legendary in the South bay and with San Jose folks , as well as performing with The Garage Band. With her husband Thom they crank out the hits from Fleetwood Mac to you name it... !

Hootenanny! 6-9pm


Hootenanny! is an eclectic Acoustic Rock/Pop cover band from the San Jose Bay Area. We play the absolute greatest songs from the 60s, 70′s, 80s, and more.

Hootenanny! is not your average Acoustic Rock/Pop cover band.  Hootenanny! is the songs you love, the songs you grew up with, the songs you want to sing along to, and the songs you forgot about that you can’t believe we’re playing. We play an incredibly wide variety of classic rock and pop tunes, with a little country thrown in for flavor.

Groovy Judy: 8-11pm


Groovy Judy is one of the “top” female guitarists and entertainers in the The Bay Area. Influenced by great artists such as Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and Sly and The Family Stone, her style and energy equals some of today’s most-known artists. Her stellar guitar playing, inspirational lyrics, colorful dress, and upbeat personality help people smile and feel good about themselves. She performs all over The Bay Area and beyond. With her band or as a solo artist, she always puts on an upbeat, positive show that gets people up and dancing.
