San Pedro Square Market Live Music: Join SPSM for live performances in Downtown San Jose the week of December 3rd, 2018 featuring: The Reggie Duo, Johnny Neri, Steve Marley, Lisa Lindsley, The Reggie Trio, The Cruisetones, and Chaz
The Reggie Duo: Monday, December 3rd @ 6:00pm
Regi has taught and performed professionally for over 30 years, and currently works with the oldies group Daddy-O. Regi teaches rock, boogie-woogie, ragtime, blues, country, and New Orleans styles, emphasizing technique, theory, performance, chords, improvisation, music history. Regi prefers the folk teaching method as opposed to reading music, only so the student will learn the components of playing songs and learn to play without just memorizing notes. Boogie-woogie is a style of piano-based blues that became popular in the late 1930s and early 1940s, but originated much earlier, and was extended from piano, and country and western music, and even gospel.
Johnny Neri: Tuesday, December 4th @ 6:00pm
Johnny Neri is a high energy Rock and Roll band that plays the greatest Rock and Roll songs ever recorded. They perform popular, vintage, classic rock songs from the 60s through the 90s. Since its inception in 2010, The Johnny Neri Band has rapidly grown in popularity after exploding on the music scene. Incredible three part harmony from amazing musicians who each play many instruments.
Johnny is incredibly entertaining, energetic and thrives on making people happy. Each one of Johnny’s shows is a powerful and emotional journey. His passion for his music and his art shines through in the magic, intimacy and nostalgia felt by the audience.
Steve Marley: Wednesday, December 5th @ 6:00pm
I started fooling around with drums at age 11 and by the age of 15 was playing and recording with rock bands in the SF Bay Area. My first recordings were made with a folk rock duo - Pat n' Al - at the old Coast Recording Studios in downtown San Francisco and Columbia "B" in Hollywood. This was fairly heady stuff for a fifteen year old from San Jose, CA.
A couple of years (and a couple of bands) later, I was playing with Teddy & His Patches, who recorded the legendary "garage psychedelic" tune Suzy Creamcheese.
Lisa Lindsley: Thursday, December 6th @ 6:00pm
She has been called a glass of champagne, cool, refreshing, and a little bubbly.
Lisa Lindsley may be a latecomer to singing jazz, but the wealth of creative experience she brings to American Songbook gems turns familiar tunes into bracingly contemporary tales. She made an impressive debut with Everytime We Say Goodbye; her 2016 release, Long After Midnight, charted for three weeks on the U.S. FMQB Top 40, and remained in the Top 5 slot for 7 weeks on the CMJ Jazz charts. And now Wouldn't It Be Loverly sits at #27 on the FMQB charts! Let's make it climb.
The Reggie Trio: Friday, December 7th @ 9:00pm
The Cruisetones: Saturday, December 8th @ 6:00pm
The CruiseTones are a versatile, talented group of performers that can lay back & groove things early, then kick it up when it’s time to get the party rolling. Made up of some the Bay Area’s best musicians, this group is comfortable playing many musical styles and are indeed, the Fabulous CruiseTones.
Chaz: Sunday, December 9th @ 2:00pm
