San Pedro Square Market Live Music: Week of July 13th, 2015. Join SPSM for live performances in Downtown San Jose featuring the Local Traffic Band, Jackie Gage, Hootenanny!, and Darrin Shimizu in the Market Plaza.
Local Traffic Band: Thursday, July 16th @ 7:00pm
Formed in the Summer of 2002, local traffic combines the songs you love – and will love – while giving them a unique sound and spin. Originally a 4-piece rock band, local traffic played every venue in the area – from the Gilroy Garlic Festival, and the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, to the San Jose Rock 'n' Roll 1/2 Marathon – until the two founders decided to focus on their two favorite instruments…the ukulele and double bass. As a duo, local traffic has performed at many private events, corporate events, and weddings. Over the years, public appearances included places like O'Flaherty's Irish Pub in Downtown San Jose, Santana Row, and since 2010, weekly at Capers in Campbell. Whether it's Van Morrison, Train, Bruno Mars, The Beatles, or Steppenwolf…we love to play music and hope you like what you'll hear!
Jackie Gage: Friday, July 17th @ 7:00pm
With a velvety voice that goes down like smooth wine, Bay Area vocalist Jackie Gage beautifully melds aspects of jazz with modern soul. “Creatively ambitious… and charmingly charismatic,” (Andrew Gilbert, San Jose Mercury News) Gage is a recipient of the inaugural Leigh Weimers Emerging Artist Award and a 2014 Jazz Search West finalist. She has performed at nationally recognized venues such as Yoshi’s Oakland, the Freight and Salvage, and The Sound Room, as well as San Jose Jazz Summer Fest in 2012 and 2013. Currently, Gage is working on her debut solo album, Siren Songs, set for release in 2016.
Hootenanny! Saturday, July 18th @ 7:00pm
Hootenanny! is not your average Acoustic Rock/Pop cover band. Hootenanny! is the songs you love, the songs you grew up with, the songs you want to sing along to, and the songs you forgot about that you can’t believe we’re playing. We play an incredibly wide variety of classic rock and pop tunes, with a little country thrown in for flavor.
Darrin Shimizu: Sunday, July 19th @ 1:00pm
