Live Music: JC Smith Band Friday June 28th

JCSmith300dpirgb webSan Pedro Square Market Live Music: Join us for a free concert with the JC Smith Band on Friday, June 28th @ 7:00pm.

J.C. Smith
began his performing career as drummer for the Back to Back Blues Band.  In 2000, he emerged from behind his drums, armed with a Gibson 335, and attacked the Blues as if masters like T-Bone Walker, Albert King, and Johnnie Guitar Watson were guiding him.  Smith has toured throughout the United States, Eastern Europe, Mexico, and South America to sellout crowds and feels that his goal in life is “to keep the Blues alive and take the message to the people.” The J.C. Smith Band’s current release, Defining Cool, entered the Living Blues Radio Charts at #16 and spent 20 weeks on the Roots Music Report. He recently shared the stage with Chris Cain and Maxx Cabello Jr. at our San Jose Jazz Winter Fest this past March.

Live Music: Scary Little Friends Saturday June 22nd

scary little friendsSan Pedro Square Market Live Music: Please join us for a live show with Scary Little Friends, on Saturday June 22nd @ 8:00pm in the market plaza.

Scary Little Friends is a musical project by Chris Jones with Charlie Knote on drums and Jon Payne on bass. During a two-year hiatus from performing, Chris built a studio and crafted new songs from the bottom up as a meditation on reinvention. The new formula potently features lilting vocals hinting Jeff Buckley while deft guitars invoke Mark Knopfler. Most effective is the point-blank songwriting that reverberates long after the music ends. Wry and brave lyrics call out the “Elephant in the Room” with unapologetic aplomb, and everyone feels better once the truth is out in the open.
