Ben Flocks Live December 28th @ 7:00pm
Ben Flocks is a saxophonist and composer, originally from Santa Cruz, California. Selected as a Brubeck Institute Fellow in 2007, Ben studied with Joe Gilman, Jeff Ballard, Eric Harland, and Taylor Eigsti. He performed with the Fellows at the Detroit Jazz Festival and the Kennedy Center, and at the Library of Congress with Dave Brubeck, and has also appeared with Joshua Redman and Yosvany Terry. In 2011, Ben graduated from NYC’s New School, earning a B.F.A. in Jazz Performance, and completed a two-year mentorship program at Stanford Jazz Workshop later that summer. The Ben Flocks Quintet performed to rave reviews at the Bern Jazz Festival alongside Ahmad Jamal. Ben has also played at the Umbria Jazz Festival, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival in Croatia, and the San Francisco and Monterey Jazz Festivals.
